The Apostolic Church LAWMNA UK Sunderland Assembly is a Christ-centred, Bible-believing and Spirit-filled Christian church committed to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and helping people develop a genuine and lasting relationship with God. As part of The Apostolic Church, we are rooted in the apostolic faith and seek to uphold the teachings of the Holy Scriptures while encouraging believers to live lives of faith, holiness, love, prayer and service. Our desire is to be a welcoming spiritual family where people from different backgrounds can come together to worship God, grow in faith, discover their purpose and experience the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.
The Apostolic Church Sunderland Assembly (LAWMNA UK) was birthed in July 2022 through an act of obedience to the call of God. What began as a cell church at 26, Cirencester Street, Sunderland SR4 6BP — the residence of Elder (now Pastor) Alaba — grew into a vibrant assembly rooted in faith, family and the purpose of God. The cell church was started with the Alaba, Ajayi and Okedele families, all of whom were Elders in the body of Christ at the time. From these humble beginnings, the fellowship grew and gathered other members who shared the same vision and hunger for God. On 23rd April 2023, the assembly took a significant step forward when a Pastor was ordained and the cell church officially became a full assembly. The inauguration service of the Sunderland Assembly was a historic and memorable occasion, graciously inaugurated by the TAC LAWMNA UK Field Superintendent, Pastor (Dr) M D Davies and council members. His presence and ministry at the inaugural service marked a significant moment in the life of the assembly and a formal recognition of God's work in Sunderland. God miraculously provided a place of worship in Sunderland — not far from where the journey began — after all human efforts to secure a venue had proved unsuccessful. This provision stood as a powerful testimony of God's faithfulness to His people. By the grace of God and in response to a clear divine directive, the assembly extended its reach and established a new assembly in Stockton, Middlesbrough, further fulfilling the mandate to spread the gospel across the North East of England. The maiden service of the Stockton Middlesbrough Assembly was equally inaugurated by the TAC LAWMNA UK Field Superintendent, Pastor (Dr) M D Davies and council members on 7th of June 2026, whose continued support and apostolic oversight has been a source of strength and encouragement to both assemblies. "And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." Acts 2:47
